The town is located between Norway's two largest fjords—the Hardangerfjord and the Sognefjord—on the country's southwestern coast. Whole communities cling to the steep slopes, and it is bordered by seven mountains (two of which may be reached by cable car). Bryggen, a gorgeous dock dotted with bright wooden structures
drift hunters, can be found near the river and has no doubt shown on your Instagram feed. The Bergen Railway, which travels through beautiful countryside, departs from the city not far from the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
